Firm on a high level: Iranian food technology imports amount to US $ 328.3 million in 2008

The 17th iran food + bev tec in May 2010 in Tehran: 30,000 trade visitors and 350 exhibitors expected.

Servicing the most important food-tech market in the Middle East.

No doubt, the Iranian food technology market becomes ever more important. Exporters of food processing equipment into the Middle East during the past few years made good business in Iran, now being the most important market for major international players with interest in the region.

In contrary to other parts of the world, Iranian imports of food processing and food packaging equipment stand firm and on a very high level, as the production of the Iranian food industry is still on the upswing.

In 2008, the Iranian food industry imported food processing and food packaging equipment worth US $ 328.3 million, compared to US $ 327.4 million in 2007. Especially producers of material and technology for baking, beverage production, confectionery, dairy processing, egg processing, fruit and vegetable processing, laboratory equipment, meat processing, noodle processing, packaging and refrigeration note an enormous boost of their sales activities in Iran.

To cope with this potential, the 17th International Food, Beverage & Packaging Technology Trade Fair provides an ideal business platform for both, foreign exporters and Iranian food producers looking to upgrade their production facilities. Being the leading trade show for the country’s food industry, iran food + bev tec 2010 is scheduled to take place at the Tehran International Fairgrounds on May 30 to June 02, 2010. The event will be held under the auspices of the Iranian ministry
of jihad – agriculture and the ministry of industries and mines.

After a slight increase in exhibitor numbers in 2009 – 311 exhibitors from 20 countries after 297 exhibitors in 2008 – the organisers Palar Samaneh from Tehran and fairtrade of Germany expect double-digit growth for 2010, indicator of the ever growing Iranian market. Notable European and Asian food tec associations, foreign trade organisations and many of the world leaders in food technology have already confirmed their participation on the last day of the event. This comes at no surprise as 90.2 % of the exhibitors were satisfied or even very satisfied with iran food + bev tec 2009.

For the upcoming event in 2010, the organisers are determined to add even more value to the show by focusing on the quality of the visitors. After 32,838 visitors in 2009, the organisers target 30,000 visitors of the trade for 2010, with an ever higher degree of decision makers as CEOs, GMs, commercial and purchasing directors.

To create valuable synergies for exhibitors and trade visitors alike, iran food + bev tec 2010 will again take place concurrently with “iran food + hospitality” and “iran agro”, with altogether 676 exhibitors from 24 countries in 2009.
